A Glimpse Into a Day in the Life Of:

Thursday was an active and busy day.

Began at 6:30am with final prep for my 8:30am zoom meeting as Chair of the Community Futures Central Alberta Audit and Finance Committee.

Followed by writing a couple of final blogs for my web site: darrenwilson.ca

I spent a little bit of time in the Olds & District Chamber of Commerce office responding to emails and preparing an update to the Small Business Awards attendee list for the October 23 Gala.

Quick stop at the advance poll station to cast my vote

Back to the Chamber office…..and then back to the Town of Olds Community Connection Centre (Family and Community Support Services) to help trouble shoot a small glitch with the Olds Fashioned Christmas Calendar of Events.

Time for a little bit of campaigning…..and then off to the Grand Opening of the Larchwoods Home Sales Centre. It was great to meet up with Blair Robertson of Totangi Properties and the folks from Triple M Housing in Lethbridge. This is an exciting development that will hopefully provide an attractive, affordable alternative to housing in Olds.

Back to Jeans’ Place in the Community Connection Centre for marketing meeting with the Olds Healthcare Fundraising Committee…..and an early exit for more campaigning.

As Council representative on the Mountain View Senior Housing Board, I attended their staff appreciation and recognition event at the Olds Legion. A dedicated group of staff and employees providing a high standard of care and services at the senior housing facilities in Mountain View County.

A brief,  early exist to make my way over to the Ramada Inn to attend the Public Art Collective of Olds (PACO) unveiling of new public art at the Cornerstone Art Commons. Art and culture are a key ingredient for a vibrant, robust community, and PACO unveiled a new collection of artwork, selected through a recent community art contest, which is now on Display in Cornerstone. Check it out.

A return to the Mountain View Seniors Housing employee appreciation event for the presentation of service awards and employee recognition for outstanding service.
